Youth caseworker position available immediately. This position reports to the Family Education and Support Program Supervisor for supervision, direction, monitoring, and evaluation. Duties include but are not limited to: intensive case management of families and goal focused education (parenting, vocational, family) to families referred by Luzerne County Children & Youth Services. These services include home visits and participation in case planning meetings.
This position requires a valid PA driver's license and insurance; a minimum Bachelor's Degree in social work or related fields; Child Line, PA State Police, and FBI background checks done by employer prior to beginning employment; VIRTUS training (employer provided) is also required.
1. Administrative A. Adheres to established regulations, policies and procedures of the overall agency and their specific component. B. Attends seminars, conferences, and training to enhance skills and job performance as directed by supervisor, subject to approval of the Program Manager. C. Performs in an advisory capacity to other professional staff in specialized areas through participation in conferences and meetings for the purpose of diagnosis and plan of treatment. D. Interprets agency programs, policies, and/or procedures to individuals, groups and agencies as assigned by the Program Manager.
2. Case Management A. Provides services to families in Luzerne County. These services include assessment, ongoing counseling, and/or referral to and in close cooperation with appropriate outside agencies as needed. B. Obtains information from Luzerne County Children and Youth, clients, clients’ families, and significant others necessary for the identification of social, economic, emotional, health, or physical problems, assisting clients in obtaining a wide variety of services and/or treatment. C. Worker maintains contact with Children & Youth case manager and submits reports to both Children & Youth and the Orphans’ Court when needed, and also reports directly to the court if necessary. D. Record keeping on individual cases to meet component, contractual, and agency regulations.
3. Direct Service A. Provides direct program services to clients and their families in their homes, to aid them in achieving a more satisfactory adjustment to their specific problem or situation. B. Performs related duties as required or assigned.
4. Supervision A. This position will report to the Family Education and Support Program Supervisor for direct supervision. Overall supervision in provided by the Program Manager.
