Description/Job Summary

Full time caseworker position available immediately. This position reports to the Specialized Adolescent Assessment Unit Supervisor for supervision, direction, monitoring, and evaluation. 
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Case management of families identified by the county child welfare agency
  • Comprehensive assessment of family functioning to include strengths and weaknesses and referral to appropriate services
  • Assessment of risk factors and safety threats
  • Services include home visits, office visits, and participation in case planning meetings
Comprehensive benefit & retirement package offered; paid time off and holidays also provided.  Salary for this position is commensurate with experience.
 
 

Responsibilities/Duties

Administrative
  • Adhere to established regulations (including response times), policies and procedures of the overall agency and their specific component.
  • Attend seminars, conferences, and training to enhance skills and job performance as directed by supervisor, subject to approval of the Program Manager.
  • Perform in an advisory capacity to other professional staff in specialized areas through participation in conferences and meetings for the purpose of diagnosis and plan of treatment.
  • Interpret agency programs, policies, and/or procedures to individuals, groups and agencies as assigned by the supervisor.
 Case Management
  • Provide in home services to parents and minor children
    • These services include assessment, advocacy, and/or referral to appropriate outside agencies as needed.
  • Maintain contact with Children & Youth liaison, complete documentation, and report directly to the court if necessary 
  • Utilize case review process for case disposition and determination of necessity for ongoing case management with the child welfare agency
  • Documentation that meets component and agency regulations, including client and collateral contacts, improvement plans based on family needs, reporting child abuse and neglect, and overall summary of family functioning
  Direct Service                                 
  • Conduct home visits, school visits, and collateral contacts as necessary. 
  • Responsible for agency intake coverage as assigned.
  • Perform related duties as required or assigned.
 Supervision
  • This position will report to the SAAU Supervisor for supervision.  In addition, clinical supervision will be provided by the Program Coordinator who is in turn responsible to the Project Director.
Other duties, as assigned.
 

Required Qualifications

This position requires:
  • a minimum Bachelor's Degree in social work, or related fields.
  • valid PA drivers license and insurance;
  • PA State Police, ChildLine, and FBI background checks prior to beginning employment;
  • VIRTUS (employer provided) training;
  • Training in child welfare-related curricula
  • any training required to complete all paperwork as directed by program policies and procedures
